Join Lockie for a program filled with an eclectic variety of music with lesser-known fun facts.
Ever since I was 18 or 19, I’ve dreamed of being on the radio. As a teenager, I emceed school events, wrote hip-hop lyrics, and loved beatboxing. I even reached out to community radio back then, but the timing—and where I was in life—just wasn’t right.
Fast forward to today, and I’m incredibly grateful to have my first opportunity as a radio announcer with 4ddd 89.9 FM in Dalby. It really is a dream come true.
My career has taken a few interesting turns. I spent many years as a chef, working everywhere from fine dining restaurants to country pubs, before moving into the banking and finance sector in my early thirties to help support my young family. Along the way, I learned how to communicate with all kinds of people. My language evolved from the rough-and-ready kitchen banter to the professionalism required in banking, giving me the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
I’ve always loved talking to people and telling stories, so radio feels like a natural fit. These days, rather than spending my spare time playing video games, I’d rather use that time to entertain, inform, and give something back to the community that has given so much to me.
I’m excited to be part of the team at 4ddd 89.9 FM and look forward to sharing music, conversation, and a few laughs with listeners for years to come.
